After laughing our arses off seeing Dylan Moran at the State Theatre in 2007, we were pretty stoked to hear he was touring again.

The show was great, although the Opera House as a venue wasn’t so great.  We had good seats visually (on a balcony), but acoustically, the sound bounced around a lot making it hard to hear spoken work (especially with that accent!).  We’d seen David Byrne in the same auditaurium a few months earlier, and the sound for that was outstanding. Admittedly, we were right in the middle of the stalls and it was a band, not spoken word which would explain a lot.

The Opera House is a great venue though.  Nothing quite beats having a few drinks downstairs at the Opera bar before a show, looking at the view accross Sydney Harbour and the bridge and then seeing a show in such a majestic room.
