Tim Minchin @ Palais Theatre, Melbourne (Fri 4 Dec 2009)

The last time we’d seen Tim Minchin live was years ago at The Powerhouse Theatre in Brisbane. Back then, we saw him in a room that would barely hold 50 people. Obviously between then and now, he’s been on countless TV programmes and his audience has grown substantially.

As I’ve said before, the Palais is a brilliant room for music, and even better for comedy (especially comedy that’s musical. Or is that musical comedy?)

Tim Minchin’s gig was hilarious. His talent as a pianist and singer is mind-blowing on its own- add to that his hilarous lyrics and you’ve got yourself a bloody good show.
